ANGIER – Glenda Hart McLeod, 70, passed away Tuesday night. A native of Harnett County she was the daughter of the late David Glenn and Estelle Parker Hart. Glenda began her career with the NC Department of Public Instruction in 1964 and worked there until 1985. She then changed over to the private sector for the remainder of her career and retired from a company in RTP in 1996 as Director of Human Resources. She continued to utilize her skills after retirement, assisting her sons in setting up their own businesses and helping them in any way she could. She was often heard saying that being a grandmother was the best job in the world. She adored her grandchildren more than life itself. She is survived by her son, Dwight Lee McLeod and his daughter, Taylor McLeod; son, Joseph Glenn McLeod and wife, Amanda McLeod, their daughter, Lila Grace McLeod, his son, Joseph Hart McLeod; son, Franklin Neill McLeod and wife, Francine Price McLeod, their children, Jordan and Nicholas McLeod; sisters, Bettie Hart Adams and Minnetta Hart Morgan both of Angier; brothers, J. D. Hart of Bunnlevel and Frank Hart of Angier. In addition to her parents she is preceded by her husband of thirty years, Eugene Sorenson. The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00-8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier and at other times at the home of Betty Adams on Tippet Rd. in Angier. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm at Angier Baptist Church with burial to follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier.
