Glenn Elvin Parler, Jr., 67, died Monday at his residence. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed kayaking and fishing at the beach, as well as hiking and camping in the mountains. Glenn had a creative mind, loved to tinker and was a true craftsman with many talents. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2 pm prior to the service. Surviving are his daughter, Nichole O’Brien and husband John of Commerce City, CO; son, Brett Parler and wife Stephanie of Raleigh; sister, Susan Parler Hobbs and husband Bill of Raleigh; brothers, Tom Parler and wife Debbie of Burlington and Dan Parler and wife Susan of Durham; grandchildren, Keeley and Landon O’Brien; many loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to NC Wildlife Federation, 1024 Washington Street, Raleigh, NC 27605.
