Gordon Odell Bradford, Sr.

FUQUAY-VARINA – Gordon Odell Bradford, Sr., 89, was called home to be with his Savior on April 27, 2024. Born in Wake County, he was the son of the late Edward Nathan Bradford and Mary Liza Edwards.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 3:00 pm at Full Gospel Tabernacle, 302 Spring Ave. Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 pm at the church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his daughter, Teresa Bradford.

He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Carleen Bradford; children, Pamela Bowers, Gordon Bradford, Jr. (Debra), Kimberly Norris (David), Jacqueline Kornegay (Kris), Janice Wilson, Jennifer Blalock (Joe), David Stephens, and so many others he raised as his own. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren he called his nobberslobberdobbers.

Odell was the perfect example of standing on the word of God, working hard to support his family, and showing love to everyone he came in contact with. He worked as a truck driver for many years and enjoyed talking to his friends about all the places he had seen on his many adventures.

While our hearts are heavy and losing him will affect so many, we hold onto the comfort of knowing he has finally made it “home to glory”- a prize he has worked toward for 52 years.
