Grace A. Blalock

ANGIER – Grace Adams Blalock, 93, passed away on Tuesday. Grace spent most of her years on the family farm at 2190 Mount Pleasant Rd in Willow Spring. However the last four years required special care. A native of Johnston County, she was the daughter of the late Lynn Dane and Ada Powell Adams. Due to her mother’s death when she was eight years old, she and her father were left to make the best of their lives. They shared a close father-daughter bond. Grace was a member of Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed raising beautiful flowers, making quilts and was a great homemaker and cook. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday at Angier Baptist Church. The burial will follow at Willow Spring Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30-2:45 pm at the church prior to the service. She is survived by daughters, Janice B. Johnson and husband, Huey, Ann B. Hunt and husband, Jack both of Angier, twin sons, Russell Blalock and wife, Janice, Ray Blalock and wife, Betty both of Willow Spring; grandchildren, Cindy Abercrombie (Wade), Alan Hargis (Patti), Monica Singletary (Macon), April Regan (Jeremy), Christie Searles (Chris), Karen Blalock (Shane), Jeffrey Blalock, Pamela Creech (Stephen), Jeremy Blalock (Kathi); 19 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Blalock was preceded in death by her husband, William Marvin Blalock, brothers, Sherwood and Vernon Adams; sisters, Edla Ogburn, Mary McElveen, Florence Ball, Frances Jolly; and a great-grandchild, Laura Anne Singletary.
