Grace King Stephenson

GARNER- Grace King Stephenson, 90, died peacefully Sunday at UniHealth Post Acute Care of Raleigh (The Oaks of Carolina). She was born in Johnston County to the late Charles Hinton King and Emily Matthews King. She was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters. Grace was the widow of William Turner Gardner and William Taft Stephenson. Grace was a long time employee of W.T. Grant Co. in Raleigh and later of Kerr Drugs in Garner. She was an active member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Willow Spring for over 50 years. One of her favorite pastimes was planting and caring for flowers in her yard. Throughout her life, Grace was a loving wife and mother, beloved Granny and Great-Granny, and a devoted friend. She is survived by her son; Glenn Gardner and wife, Jess of Garner; daughter, Carolyn S. Johnson and husband, Don of Wake Forest; grandchildren, Anthony Johnson and wife, Julie of Garner, and Renee J. Ake and husband, Tripp of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Sammy Johnson and Abbey Ake. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 28th at 2:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, 1241 Old Fairground Rd., Willow Spring, NC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends, Tuesday, March 27th from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Rd., Garner, NC.
