Gregory Ellsworth Rogers

Greg E. Rogers, 66, of Angier, North Carolina went home to his Lord and Savior on Friday July 23, 2021. Born in Crawford County, Kansas, he was the son of the late Cloyes and Mary Rogers. Greg was raised in Pittsburgh, Kansas and graduated from Pittsburgh High School in 1972. Greg shared the Amateur Radio hobby with his father. His Amateur Radio hobby and love for music led to a career in Broadcast Radio and TV as a disc jockey and Station Engineer. His Radio and TV career brought him to Joplin, Mo., Tampa, Fl., Ardmore, Ok. and Raleigh, NC. As much as he enjoyed his technical career he felt something was missing. He enjoyed people and felt a calling to help others, so he changed his course in life and pursued a Masters Degree in Psychology with a emphasis on Substance Abuse Counseling. He had found his passion in life and felt a deep satisfaction in guiding others along their path. Their was, however, still an emptiness in Greg’s life. That emptiness was filled when he met and married his soulmate Lynn on August 22, 2009. Their marriage gave him a family and grandchildren which he loved and cherished. Over the last few years, Greg’s health seriously declined. Greg left this life with joy and happiness with his family by his side. Greg was a devoted Christian and member of Amplify Nazarene Church. Memorial service will be at 7:00 PM Monday July 26, at Amplify Nazarene Church on Hwy. 42 near Old Stage Rd. in Willow Spring. The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 6:45 pm at the church prior to the service. Survivors include his wife Lynn Rogers, step-daughter, Tracy Roadman; step-sons, Andrew Roadman and wife Mattie and David Roadman; and three grandchildren, Camden Roadman, Adalynn Roadman and Miller Roadman. He also is survived by long time and close friends, Dave Philips and Tim Vandagriff.
