Gregory Wayne Davis (Greg as he was known by his friends), 52, of Garner, passed away suddenly, Friday, December 23, 2016. While in his Garner home, he transitioned from this world and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was surrounded in love by his family at his time of passing. Greg was born on April 2, 1964 in Roxboro to Donald and Amy Davis. After college Greg met and married his wife, Tammy, of 28 years. Their son, Jamie, was the apple of his dad’s eye. Greg worked at First Petroleum Services as an electrician. Greg is survived by his wife Tammy and son Jamie Davis, his father Donald and mother Amy Davis, his brother Donnie and his wife Marcie Davis, his sister Amy and her husband George Tingen, his Father-in-law James Agnew, and a host of nephews and nieces. Visitation will be at 1:00pm followed by a Worship Service celebrating Greg’s life at 2:00pm on Thursday December 29, 2016 at C3 Church, 8246 Cleveland School Road, Clayton, NC. Pastor Matthew Fry will conduct the service. The family would like to ask that memorial contributions be made instead of flowers to C3 Church, 8246 Cleveland Road, Clayton, NC 27520. Condolences may be shared at bryan-leefuneralhome.com. Greg loved the outdoors and hunting and fishing with his son and anyone else he could talk into going with him. His craftsman skills were evident in everything he touched, as evidenced by the many projects he headed up or assisted with to help family, friends, and anyone in need. He was a devout Christian involved in the life of his church by starting and hosting connect groups and endless fundraising activities, including any event involving cooking – especially on a grill. He also participated in a mission trip to Haiti during which he fell in love with the idea of missions, especially the country of Haiti. Before his son was born, Greg held numerous volunteer positions in the Church. One of those was Youth Counselor. He was always a positive role model. Greg had a beautiful baritone voice and sang in the Choir, quartets, and solos, blessing the entire congregation with his singing talents. His greatest joy was his family and friends.
