Gwen H. Prior

GARNER - Gwendolyn Hobby Prior, 81, died Sunday in Charleston, SC after a brief illness. A native of Wake Co., she was the daughter of the late James Lacy Hobby, Sr. and Martha Sauls Hobby. A memorial service will be held 4:00 pm Saturday at Holland’s United Methodist Church of which she was a lifelong member. The family will receive friends following the service. Surviving, her husband of 62 years, Gary R. Prior; sons, Rickie Prior of Raleigh and Jeff Prior and his wife, Donna of Garner; a brother, James Lacy Hobby, Jr. and his wife Jean of Garner; grandchildren, Dylan Prior, Brianna Prior, Christyn Hiatt and husband, Brad, and Brian Stephenson; a great-grand daughter, Olivia Hiatt.
