Harold Bailey, Sr.

FUQUAY-VARINA – Spurgeon Harold Bailey, Sr., passed away at his home Monday. Born in Boca Raton, FL, he was the son of the late Nicholas Spurgeon Bailey and Kathleen Blinson Bailey. Mr. Bailey was a missionary working in Child Evangelism along with his wife, Barbara F. Bailey who died May 3, 2018. Funeral services will be 12:00 Thursday at Hayes Chapel Christian Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 pm Wednesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Survivors include his daughter, Jennifer Odom (Rockey) of Burkeville, VA; sons, Tim Bailey (Angela) of Angier and Spurgeon Bailey, Jr., (Theresa) of Willow Spring; brothers, Dennis Bailey of Marion, VA, Sherwood Bailey of Garner, and Durwood Bailey of Apex; grandchildren, Lisa Ballard, Aaron Bailey, Christopher Odom, Spencer Bailey and Trey Bailey. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a son, Casey Bailey and sisters, Becky Bradley and Sandy Wall.
