Raleigh, North Carolina – Harold Lloyd Smith of Raleigh, NC passed away Sept. 9th, 2023. He was born April 30, 1925, in Benson.NC.
He is preceded in death by his son Lloyd Ray Smith, Sr. and his parents CJ Smith and Dezzia Moore Smith. Also preceded by one brother, CB Smith and 2 sisters, Juanita Godwin and Lorene Lee.
He is survived by his wife of 74 years, Jacqueline Dunn Smith of Raleigh, a grandson, Lodie Smith, and his wife Jessica White and 2 great-grandsons, Scout Smith and Corbin White. Also 1 nephew and 4 nieces.
Harold served in the US Army, where he fought in WWII and then retired from Dorthea Dix Hospital, where he served as a kitchen supervisor. Harold loved being outdoors in the sun and being with his family.
Visitation will be held at Bryan Lee Funeral Home in Garner on Tuesday 9/12 from 6-8pm. The funeral will be held on Wednesday 9/13 at 11am at Garner Advent Christian Church on Vandora Springs Rd in Garner.
