Harriet S. Martin

RALEIGH – Harriet S. Martin, 69, passed away Saturday. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:45 pm on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, followed by a Prayer Service beginning at 7:45 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Harriet graduated from Wake Technical Community College where she obtained her nursing degree. In this career she continued to faithfully serve her community as a nurse at both WakeMed and Rex Hospital, from which she eventually retired as a nursing supervisor. Harriet was an exceptionally talented artist and took pride sharing in her creativity with others. A special place in her heart was reserved for children and animals, and she was delighted at any opportunity to spend time with them. A friend to anyone in need, Harriet will be dearly missed by all who knew her in the days ahead. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Annie Lee Sturges. Harriet is survived by her cousins, Thomas B. Driver and wife, Celia, of Raleigh, Patsy Driver Faircloth of Fuquay-Varina, Dewey Allen Driver and wife, Wendy, of Knightdale, Eva McCotter Elsen and husband, Rob, of Chalybeate; and a host of extended family.
