GARNER – Hazel Hall Scarboro, 82, passed away on Saturday after an extended illness, surrounded by her family. Born in Surry County, she was the daughter of the late John and Ada Hall. Mrs. Scarboro loved to cook, sew, and participate in church activities, spending time with her children, grandchildren and reading. She worked for many years as a professional secretary for the state of NC. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Survivors include her son, Phillip Scarboro and wife, Tricia; daughters, Cindy Scarboro Batten and husband, Randy, Bonnie Scarboro Glover and husband, Eddie; grandchildren, Taylor Scarboro and wife, Elizabeth, Becca Scarboro, Eric Batten and his wife, Emily, Emily Bornheim and her husband, Bryan, Holly Glover; great grandchildren, Turner Scarboro and Birdie Scarboro, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bennie Ray Scarboro; sister, Helen Tutor; brother, Johnny Hall, Billy Hall, and Jack Hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Transitions LifeCare, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh NC 27607 or Layden Memorial Methodist Church Building fund 2607 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603 or Alzheimer’s Association of Wake County 3739 National Dr, Raleigh, NC 27612.
