Hazel Harper Lassiter

Raleigh – Hazel Harper Lassiter, 101, of Sauls Road, Raleigh passed away on Monday, September 13, 2021. A native of Pitt County, Hazel was born September 7, 1920, to the late Carl Harry and Agnes Penny Johnston Harper. She was a charter member of Wooten’s Chapel FWB Church. A funeral service will be held at Wooten’s Chapel FWB Church, 9825 Sauls Road, Raleigh, NC 27603 at 1:00 pm, Friday, September 17. Burial will follow at Wooten’s Chapel FWB Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6-8PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 1200 Benson Road, Garner, NC 27529. She is survived by her daughters, Phyllis L. Cantrell and husband, Marshall of Melbourne, FL, Pamela L. Hunt and husband Ron of Raleigh and Gail L. Haddock and husband, Chip of Melbourne Beach, FL; son, Tim Lassiter and wife, Jeri of Palm Coast, FL; 8 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; sisters, Ann Starnes of Georgia, Millie Shelor of Newport News, VA, and Betty Jean Goad of Smithfield, VA; and brother, Billy Harper of Berryville, VA. In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Lassiter and infant daughter, Meredith Lassiter; her siblings, Carl Harper, Jasper Harper, Thelma Caldwell, Lucille Bradshaw, and Grant Harper.
