Hazeline "Grannymas" Wilkins

July 10, 1938 — January 5, 2025

Hazeline “Grannymas” Wilkins, age 86, passed away surrounded by her loving family at her home on Sunday, January 5, 2025, in Raleigh, NC. Born July 10, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Elbert and Ora Strickland Lovelace.

Grannymas was born in 1938, making her the youngest of nine children raised in the heart of small-town Wendell, North Carolina. She spent her youngest years working with her family who owned a recreational center on Lake Glad that held events all year long. As time flew by as it often does, she graduated school, became a beautician, met her first love, married, and had her two girls Renee and Denise. Although her arms and days were full, her heart still had room which lead her to dig deeper in her calling and walk with God. This brought her to the temple of Pentecost where she received the gift of Holy Ghost, binding the ties to her legacy to come. Grannymas love for God overflowed into the ones she held closest to her, and if you called her “Grannymas” then that means you! She could have lived a thousand lives over with the amount of people with a seat at her table. I truly believe her years of hard work, beautician experience and time as a florist only refined her art of soul winning, finding beauty in the chaos, and refining the beauty that is already there. Our world got a little lighter this year, but heaven gained one of its most faithful servants. “Well done” wouldn’t begin to cover the overflow she left for us still here.

So grab your cup and don’t let her good works go to waste.

Until we meet again, never goodbye but see you later.
