Helen Kemp Ross

RALEIGH – Helen Kemp Ross, age 96, passed away Friday, November 22, 2024.

Helen was born in Johnston County on November 15, 1928, the daughter of the late James Millard Kemp and Zoma Rivers Hood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Proctor Ross; siblings, Clyde Kemp, Doris Kemp, Harold Creech; and by her step-siblings, Eric Creech, Earl Creech, Dewitt Creech, and Garland Creech.

Helen graduated from Corinth Holders High School. She was the director of medical billing at Rex Hospital in Raleigh for over 40 years until her retirement. A woman of faith, Helen was a member of Corinth Baptist Church in Zebulon.

Helen is survived by her brother, Fred Creech; best friends, Barbara Boykin and Margie Fowler; along with her step-daughters, nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family.

The family will receive friends and relatives from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC 27604. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Corinth Baptist Church, 13450 NC-96, Zebulon, NC 27597, with burial following in the church cemetery.
