Helen Louise Ruffin passed away December 29, 2014, shortly after celebrating her 100th birthday. A native and lifelong resident of Raleigh, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Sallie Hall Davis Ruffin. Helen was educated in the Raleigh Public Schools and a graduate of Meredith College. She taught school for several years before joining the staff in the Statistics Department at North Carolina State University, where she retired after thirty-five years. Helen was a loyal and devoted Wolfpack sports fan her entire life. She was a lifetime member of Edenton Street United Methodist Church. Surviving are her niece, Sarah Weaver Weden and husband, Gilbert, her nephew, Bruce Weaver and wife Martha, and numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews. Her family was a very important part of her life and spending time with them brought her joy. The family would like to express their appreciation to her caregiver Grace Buckhram, the staff at Brighton Gardens, and Hospice. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
