Helen "Pug" Blalock Hudson

Helen Blalock “Pug” Hudson, of Raleigh, NC, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Saturday evening, September 24th, 2022.

Pug was born August 23rd, 1937, to Willie Barnes Blalock and Virginia Dare Blalock in Willow Springs, NC. After graduating from Cleveland High School in 1955, she enjoyed a life-long career in mostly bookkeeping, retiring in 2000 after working 15 years with her husband, Leigh, at Hudson’s Hardware in Clayton, NC.

Pug was a sweet and sassy country girl that cared for everyone and was always fun to be around. She and her husband Leigh, married in 1979, recently celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary. Pug had one son, Tony Gulley, while previously married to Richard Gulley (deceased).

Pug is predeceased by her parents, one half-sister, and 5 half-brothers. She is survived by her husband, Leigh Hudson; her sister, Dorothy Jordan (Billy); her son, Tony Gulley (Kim); 3 grandsons, Jeffrey Gulley (Courtney), Austin Gulley (Hope), and Stone Gulley (fiancé Claire), and four great-grandchildren, Ella Wray, Nellie, Wood, and River.
