Henry I. Defoor, Jr.

June 27, 1947 - March 28, 2012 Time God is in time in the sense that He is the Lord of time. God is in time in the sense that He is steadily present in all the events of time. He was there at the beginning of all created things; He will be there when temporal reality ends; He is present at every moment in between. Ecclesiastes Chapter 3 To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heaven; a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up which was planted. There is time, a time to live; and a time to go Home. In the quietness and tranquility of time, Mr. Henry I. DeFoor, Jr. was called Home. Henry was born on June 27, 1947, in Warren, Ohio. He received his education in the Trumbull County School System. He joined the United States Marine Corp in 1967. One of his assignments included Embassy Duty and was stationed at various Marine Bases in the United States and over seas. After his military duties, he was employed with The United States Postal Service until he retired in 2005. Henry was always direct and precise in his every day demeanor. When he wanted a task done, he expected promptness and positive results. He always knew what he wanted and how to get it. Funeral rites will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 12 Oclock noon in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, Garner. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. To cherish fond memories, he leaves to mourn his wife, Mrs. Thelma A. DeFoor, three sons, Henry I. DeFoor III (Rose) of Lehigh Acre, FL, Brian Washington (Michelle) of Durham, NC, and Ean DeFoor of Marlboro, MD; one daughter, Dawn Chandler of Jacksonville, NC; one brother, Michael DeFoor (Pamela) of Warren, Ohio; five grandsons, Najee, Ja-marcy and Milton of Jacksonville, NC, Bryson of Durham, NC, Mateo of Cape Coral, FL; three granddaughters, Dominique and Destany of Jacksonville, NC and Kayla of Cape Coral, FL; several nephews, cousins, and host of relatives and friends.
