Herbert C. Neal

GARNER – Herbert Calvin Neal, 86, loving husband, father and grandfather, died Wednesday. Born in Johnston County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Alma Kelly Neal. Dedicated to his country, he was a retired veteran of the US Air Force and retired from the NC Dept. of Education. He was an avid sports fan and loved fishing. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at New Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Saturday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Tina Neal; sons, Jimmy Neal and wife, Sherry of Cary and Bobby Neal and wife, Sharon of Holly Springs; sisters, Geneva Perkins of Sun City, FL and Thelma Thompson of Garner; grandchildren, Kristopher, Justin, Lauren and Colin Neal. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Neal. The family wishes to thank the staff of Lee’s Long Term Care and the Laurels of Forest Glen for their loving care.
