Hilca Rosario Lewis

Hilca Rosario Lewis, 43, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022. She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and grew up in Fayetteville, NC. Hilca was a Sister of Christ who served the Lord. She never met a stranger and always showed kindness with a smile. Hilca had a B.S. in Criminal Justice, a B.S. in Early Childhood Education, and an M.A. in Reading Education. She was employed with Wake County Schools as an educator for over 18 years and loved working with children. She impacted so many people’s lives and was truly an angel amongst us. Hilca is survived by her husband for over 18 years, Alexander Neal Lewis, her children: Alexander Neal Lewis Jr., Christian Patrick Lewis, Isaiah Clyde Lewis, her parents: Luis A. Rosario, Carmen L. Casado-Cartagena, John H. Gilmore, her siblings: Catalina Rosario-Casado, Gabriel Rosario-Casado, Luis Angel Rosario, nephews: Joshua H. Casado, Masón A. McCombs, Aiden Lewis, niece: Áriana R. Bain, in-laws: Henry Glenn Lewis, Gayle Phillips Lewis, Hank Lewis, Trish Lewis, Tio, Edwin Rosario, Titi Milita Rosario, Titi Marta Rosario and many beloved cousins. She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Hilda Casado and Eduardo Casado, paternal grandparents: Aida Margarita Sanchez and Gregorio Rosario, maternal Titi Anna Velez Casado, maternal Tio Eduardo Casado Cartagena and paternal Tio Freddi Rosario. Memorial Services will be 6:00 PM, Friday, August 5th, at Breezewood Church, 3337 Legion Road, Hope Mills, NC 28348. The family will receive friends and relatives from 5:00 PM to 5:45 PM, prior to the service at Breezewood Church. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Saint Jude.
