Hilda Adams Lee

MAY 28, 1929 -SEPT. 11, 2011 ANGIER - Hilda Adams Lee, 82, a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, died Sunday.A native of Harnett County, she was the daughter of the late C. C. Adams and Lilla Young Adams. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Baxter W. Lee in 2008.A member of the Angier Baptist Church, she was a graduate of Angier High School where she was the captain of the girls basketball team. An avid Carolina fan, she enjoyed playing bridge with her friends and doing crossword puzzles.Funeral Services will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at Angier Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.Surviving are her daughters, Nancy L. Lee and her husband, Dale of Fuquay-Varina and Linda L. Whetstone and her husband, Jack of Pawleys Island, SC; son, Frank Lee of Angier; grandchildren, Jonathan Lee, Ben Whetstone, John Whetstone and Leea Whetstone; sisters, Edith A. Currin of Angier and Faye A. Jones of Garner; sisters-in-law, Frances H. Adams of Angier and Judy W. Adams, both of Angier, Pattie Lee of Garner and Shirley Lee of Willow Spring; brothers-in-law, Wayne Lee and his wife, Jean and Wilburn Reavis all of Angier and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine A. Campbell and brothers, C. C. Billy Adams and Curtis Adams.The family will receive friends Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier and at other times at the home of Nancy and Dale Lee, 168 Woodview Ct., Fuquay-Varina.Memorial contributions may be made to Angier Baptist Church, PO Box 130, Angier, NC 27501 or to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
