February 8, 1932-December 21, 2011 GREENVILLE - Rev. Hildred C. Potter, 79, received his crown in Heaven on the morning of December 21, 2011 at his daughters home in Cary, NC where he and his wife have resided for the past 9 months. He was born February 8, 1932 and grew up in New Bern, NC. After marrying his beloved wife, Mary Strickland Potter, they attended Holmes Theological Seminary where Hildred became an ordained minister. Their ministry allowed them to serve more than 45 years in Eastern North Carolina as pastors in the NC Conference of the Pentecostal Holiness Church and after his retirement he took his locksmith business to full-time and continued to serve and minister in the Greenville area for more than 10 years. Hildred was dearly loved and respected by all who came into contact with him. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday December 29, 2011 at Culbreth Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church, 8443 Fayetteville Road, Falcon, NC with burial to follow in Falcon Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Surviviors: wife, Mary Strickland Potter ; son, Gary Cecil Potter of South Carolina; daughter, Rachel Potter McFatter of Cary; grandchildren, April Potter, Jason Hughes, Jerry Heath, Blake McFatter; great grandchild, Isaiah Hughes. brothers: Rev. Raymond Potter of Greenville, Vernon Potter of Raleigh, Rev. J. Wesley Potter of Florence, SC. He was preceded in death by his parents Mark and Hannah Potter; daughter, Kathy Potter Heath, granddaughter Sara Beth Potter; brothers Mark Potter and Bobby Potter.
