Horace S. Stephens, Jr.

RALEIGH- Horace S. Stephens, Jr., 82, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday. Born and raised in Wake County, he was the son of the late Horace and Betty Stephens. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Thursday at Faith Baptist Church, Apex. Burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. The love of his life, Rosa, journeyed home before him just three days short of a year earlier. Horace and Rosa were wed on April 19, 1952 and celebrated 62 years of marriage. Together, they praised the Lord in song at local churches and rest homes. Survivors include his sons, Benjamin H. Stephens and wife, Margaret of Henryville, Indiana and Timothy W. Stephens and wife, Kris of Lake Toxaway, NC and his daughter, Rose Marie Harris of Raleigh, NC; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, Horace was preceded in death by his son, Douglas Eugene “Gene” Stephens.
