Howard Butler Harris, Jr.

RALEIGH-Howard Butler Harris, Jr., 81, better know as Bud to family and friends, died on Friday.A native of Wake County, he was the son of the late Howard Butler Harris, Sr. and Lenora King Harris.Bud was a veteran of the US Army and served in the Korean War.He retired as a Pressman with the News & Observer with over 30 years of service.Bud was a graduate of Hugh Morson High School, class of 1949.Funeral Service will be on Monday at 11 AM at Macedonia Baptist Church, 7100 Holly Springs Rd, Raleigh, NC 27606 with burial to follow at Montlawn Memorial Park.He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Stewart Harris, a son, Howard Keith Harris (Candi), of Castalia, grandson, Howard Blaine Harris, sister-in-law, Christine S. Koontz of Salisbury, brothers-in-law, Robert W. Senter of Raleigh, Jean T. Abouzeide of Del Ray Beach Fl, a special beloved niece and husband, Kathy and Tommy Price of Benson and many other nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.Family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday from 4-6 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.Memorial contributions can be made to: Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607.
