Howard D. Mills

Howard Dixson Mills, 73, died Saturday. Born in Johnston Co., he was the son of Eunice Mills Spence and the late Ernest Mills. He attended Wilson Mills High School then moved to Garner, where he met his wife, Gail. They were married in 1963 and started Beautimar Marble Inc. in 1969. Howard and Gail operated Beautimar with their two sons, Tony and Kenny. Beautimar remains family owned and operated in Raleigh to the present day. Funeral Services will be 2:00 Wednesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner.Entombment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Survivors are his wife of 49 years, Gail Smith Mills; sons, Tony Mills (Beth) of Fuquay Varina and Kenny Mills of Garner; mother, Eunice Spence; sister, Clorie Pardue (George); brother, Marvin Mills (Bobbie); grandchildren, Logan, Megan and Emily Mills; mother-in-law Agnes Smith; brother-in-law, Al Smith (Dena); sisters-in-law, Judy Cox and Nancy Kunkel.He was predeceased by a brother, Arlie Mills.The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
