Hubert C. Rev. Stanley, Sr.

RALEIGH- Rev. Hubert C. Stanley, Sr., 89, went to be with the Lord on Monday surrounded by his loving family. He was a native of Columbus County, born to the late Henry Emerson and Vira Hinson Stanley. He was a veteran of the United StatesArmy having served during WWII. In addition to his military service, he was a minister with the Original Freewill Baptist Church of NC. Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his loving wife, Lillie M. Stanley in 2011. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Thursday at Vandora Springs Original Freewill Baptist Church, Garner. Burial will follow at Wootens Chapel Church Cemetery with military honors. He is survived by his daughter, Betty Jo Perritte of Raleigh; sons, Rev. Bill Stanley and wife, Loreta of Maiden, H. Clint Stanley Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Raleigh; sisters, Gladys S. Mills of Whiteville, June S. Nichols and Lorraine S. Bullock , both of Chadbourne; brother, Selmon Stanley of Clarendon; ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6-8:00 pm at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.
