Hubert Seaton Gill

Hubert Seaton Gill, III, 62, passed away Tuesday after a hard fought 17 year battle with cancer. He was involved with cancer research during much of his illness. A native of Wake County, he was the son of the late Hubert Gill, Jr. and Sara Frances Eaddy Gill. He graduated from Needham Broughton High School in 1966 and NC Wesleyan College in 1983. He served his country as a member of the US Navy and was a retired engineer with the NC Department of Transportation. Funeral services will be 7:00 pm Friday at Aversboro Road Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm at the church prior to the service and other times at the family home, 114 Broughton Street, Garner. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Sue Kelly Gill; daughter, Savannah Lapinskes and husband, Zane; son, Hu Gill, all of Garner; sisters, Annette Seidel and husband, Dick of Morehead City and Dixie Kaye Elm of Louisville, CO; brother, Randy Gill and wife, Charlie of San Diego, CA; three grandchildren, Sarah, Benjamin and Elijah Lapinskes, as well as several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wake County, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607 or to Aversboro Road Baptist Church Special Needs Ministry, 1600 Aversboro Road, Garner, NC 27529.
