Hugh Marshall Pillow

Raleigh - Hugh Marshall Pillow died on Monday, March 3, 2014. He was born August 10, 1931 in Roanoke, VA, to the late Opie Pillow and Carrie Brumfield Pillow and graduated from the University of Oklahoma at Norman, OK. He served four years in the Air Force, worked for and owned a number of retail businesses over the course of his career, and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Mr. Pillow is survived by his wife Joan VanNoy Pillow; son Bruce Lee Pillow and wife Malinda, of Wendell; daughter Susan Pillow Askew and Paul Thibodeau, of Portland, OR; brother Bobby Pillow and wife Elsie, of Roanoke, VA; and sister Betty Woods and husband Ed of Rocky Mount, VA. He was preceded in death by brother Jesse Corbet Pillow and wife Gladys; and sisters Lucille Tuck and husband Dallas, and Thelma Lee Martin and husband Penny. A funeral service will be held at Emmanuel Baptist Church Thursday, March 6, 2014, 2:00 PM, with visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will be at Raleigh Memorial Park.
