J. Wayne Lee

May 28, 1934 - Apr. 30, 2012ANGIER - Joseph Wayne Lee, a retired farmer and US Army veteran, died Monday. A native of Harnett Co. he was the son of the late R. W. Lee, Sr., and Hazel Jones Lee. He was a member of the Angier Baptist Church for 60 years, a member of the Angier Masonic Lodge for 56 years and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Angier for 29 years. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at Angier Baptist Church. Burial with Masonic rites will follow at the Angier Cemetery.He was survived by his wife of 55 years, Jean Adams Lee, son, Dr. Joseph W. Lee Jr. and wife, Dr. Elizabeth Slass Lee of Berkeley, CA., grandchildren, Rebecca, Benjamin, Alexandra and Ethan Lee, sisters-in-law, Shirley F. Lee, Pattie B. Lee; brother-in-law, Wilburn Reavis and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Grace L. Denning, Alice L. Reavis and Kay L. Clifton; brothers, Howard Lee, Edgar Lee, Paul Lee, Baxter Lee and R. W. Lee, Jr.The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier and at other times at the home.The family expresses deep appreciation to the medical staff at Wake Med, especially for the extra care given by the staff on 2-D and Wake-Harnett Hospice.Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to the Angier Baptist Church stained glass window fund, PO Box 130, Angier NC 27501, or the Angier Cemetery, PO Box 1348, Angier NC 27501.
