Jackie R. “Jack” Daniels

GARNER – Jackie Ray “Jack” Daniels of Garner, age 76, passed away peacefully May 3, 2018 at home surrounded by family. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at Bryan Lee Funeral Home in Garner. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park, Clayton with military honors. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at the funeral home. He was born March 12, 1942 to the late Gurthie and Gladys Daniels of Knightdale and was preceded in death by his brother Billy Daniels of Wendell NC. He served in the US Navy and was deployed on the USS Skagit. After returning from duty he married Janice Young Daniels on October 19, 1963. He retired from the USPS after 32 years, after which he went to work at the NC General Assembly until retiring in 2016. Jackie is survived by his wife of 54 years, Janice Young Daniels, daughters Teresa (Andy) Carter of Raleigh, Lisa (Phillip) Eastmead of Willow Springs, April (Bobby) Kobito Raleigh NC, grandchildren Makayla Horton, Taylor and Justin Carter, Clair Eastmead, one great grandchild Grace Murdock, sister Faye Daniels Perry of Zebulon NC and brother-in-law James Young Jr. of Atlanta Ga.
