Jacquelyn Evans Moss

April 29, 1947 — December 4, 2024

Jacquelyn Evans Moss, age 77, of Benson passed early in the morning of December 4, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nannie Rae (Stone) and Jessie Evans; her husband of 57 years, Dwight Moss; her daughter, Lisa Moss Duncan, and her granddaughter, Rebecca Blanton. Jackie is survived by her sons, Jeremy Moss (Marie) and Randy Moss (Rachel); her grandsons whom she adored: Tyler Duncan, Jackson Moss, Kaleb Moss, Eli Moss, and Ethan Moss as well as her 5 great grandchildren: Raelyn, Charlie and Lincoln Blanton, TJ Duncan and Paisley Duncan.

Jackie lived her life as a living, breathing, testimony to the Lord through her selfless service to everyone she met. Her ultimate priority was serving the Lord, and He was the pilot that guided her steps and decisions in life. Her life’s mission was her ministry to family, friends, her local church, and the hundreds of Kindergarteners she taught over the years. To know Jackie was to be immensely blessed by her as she was simply a beacon of joy and kindness who never met a stranger.

Jackie was a genuine and kind soul who lived an abundant life of gratitude, optimism, and servitude. While life provided her with many challenges over the years, her grateful heart and fortuitous spirit sustained her as she was always joyful and carried herself with an inner peace that is rare in this world. Those around her rarely heard a complaint, but rather always saw her big, beautiful smile and heard a kind word. Jackie was a doting wife and mother – always focused on her husband and children’s needs and later expanding her heart to many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved to play the piano and recognized and nurtured her oldest son’s natural abilities in music early on which fostered a love of music which has already transcended 2 generations. Jackie was a natural caregiver. This gift led her into secondary education as an adult to become a teacher, often toting her youngest son along with her to classes. Teaching Kindergarten was a true passion for her and over decades in the school system, she touched hundreds of children’s lives through her patience and diligence. Even after retiring, Jackie never quite turned in her teaching hat, as she continued in children’s ministry at her church and shifted her focus onto caring for her young grandsons during the week. She was the most patient and loving Mema and while she was utterly exhausted at 5 o’clock every day, she loved every minute of those years! Jackie considered herself greatly blessed to have had her mother for 76 of her 77 years and she spent the better part of her later years tending to her mother with great love and devotion. She rarely missed a day spent with her mother and they were immensely blessed by each other in this life. Jackie’s selfless and tender nature was truly unmatched; she was indeed a walking example of Jesus each and every day. No doubt this day she is eternally whole, resting in the arms of her Savior as he whispers, “well done, my good and faithful servant.”
