James Anthony Powers

James A. Powers, 90, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2024. A native of Illinois, he was the son of the late Antone and Kathleen Schreiber Powers. James proudly served his country in the US Army. He spent 35 years with Caterpillar, before retiring. James enjoyed golfing with his buddies and being a member of the American Legion. More than anything, he loved spending time with his family.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 2PM, in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel, 1200 Benson Road Garner, NC 27529. The family will receive friends following the service.

James is survived by his wife of 65 years, Betty Powers; son, Michael Powers and wife, Lori; daughter, Teresa Connolly and husband, John; grandchildren, Troy Connolly and wife, Camie and Kelcey Meier and husband, Jeff; great granddaughter, Dallas Connolly; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Mundy.
