James Benjamin J.B. Shaw

GARNER-The blessed and full life of 86 year old J.B. Shaw came to a peaceful end Wednesday, May 19, 2011, at his home in Garner.A faithful Christian servant at Raleigh First Church of the Nazarene, he will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.J.B. was born in McBee, S.C. to Frank L. Shaw and Emma C. Shaw.He was the 6th of 7 children.He attended McBee High School , class of 1941, and was dedicated to attending his annual class reunions.J.B. was a Sergeant in the Army Air Corp during WWII until he was honorably discharged.He attended business school and began a career in sales.He was a real estate broker with Century 21 and retired with Howard, Perry & Walston.Surviving are his loving and devotedwife of 60 years,Ethel Mae Hill Shaw; daughters, Lynn Legg and Rev. Tom Legg of Kingsport, TN; Ann Coats and Van Coats of Pinehurst, NC; sons, Randy Shaw and Jenny Shaw of Garner, N.C., Ted Shaw of Garner N.C.; surviving sister;Mary Evelyn Pierce of Thomasville, NC.Grandchildren: James and Kathe Legg, Ben Legg, Nat Coats, Derek Shaw, Dillon Shaw, Jessica and Matt Wrench, Brittany Shaw and Madison Shaw.Many nieces and nephews.Family will receive friends on Saturday, May 21, 2011, from 1:00-2:30, with a celebration of life service immediately following at Raleigh First Church of the Nazarene, 1329 Highway 70 West, Garner, NC.Burial will be at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh, N.C.The family requests memorial contributions to Raleigh First Church of the Nazarene.
