James Calvin "J.C." Shook

James Calvin “J.C.” Shook, 81, of Garner, passed away peacefully on January 20, 2024 at Gabriel Manor Assisted Living in Clayton. J.C. is predeceased by his wife, Mary Shook; and parents, Samuel and Lucille Shook. He is survived by his daughter, Christine and husband, Jon Hobson; brother, Gary Shook and grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Elizabeth Hobson.

J.C. was a Master Mason of the J.J. Crowder Lodge #743 in Raleigh and then transferred to Granite Lodge #191 in Clayton where he was a long time member. He worked and retired as a yard master for Norfolk Southern Railroad.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh NC 27603. A visitation will be held from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm before the service at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh NC 27604.
