James David Taylor

FUQUAY-VARINA – James David Taylor, 91, of Purfoy Road passed away at home on Wednesday. He was born on April 17, 1931, to the late Joseph Thomas Taylor and Nellie Pendergraph Taylor.

He served in the United States Army from 1952-1954, stationed in Japan. He lived a full 91 years in Harnett County, farming much of those years. He was a dedicated tobacco farmer as well as vegetable farmer for his family and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 24th at 2:00 PM at Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Angier.

James is survived by his wife of 67 years, Bobbie Cain Taylor of the home; daughters, Cathy Hair and husband, Stuart of Fuquay-Varina, Debbie Wells and husband, Harold of Fuquay-Varina, and Jaime Phelps and husband, Douglas of Lillington; son, Lonnie Taylor of Wilmington, and Thomas Taylor and wife, Tammy of Fuquay-Varina; sister, Irene Jones of Fuquay-Varina; seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant daughters; three brothers and one sister.
