James Dewey Young September 29, 1932 – December 12, 2019 James Dewey Young, 87, passed away on Thursday, December 12, 2019 A native of Johnston County, James was born September 29, 1932 to the late Dewey Thomas and Ava Stephenson Young.  James owned his own painting company for many years in the area.  He enjoyed riding his Harley as often as he had the chance.  Above all else, his family was the most important thing and he loved spending time with them. He is survived by his companion of more than 35 years, R. Jean Owen; children, Jay Young and wife, June, Lynne Young Norman, and Ronnie Young and fiancé, Tracy Gray; 12 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and sisters, Nell Partin, Alva Moore, and Euba Stephenson.  In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Ethel Thomas and Allie Deal, and a brother, Owen Young. Funeral service will be held Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 3pm in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends and relatives Sunday, December 15 from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner.  Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Angier.
