James Donald Whitaker

James Donald Whitaker "Jabby" 81 of Raleigh, NC passed away at Wake Medical Center and went to be with the Lord on July 22nd. He was proceeded in death by his loving Wife Clara Whitaker. He was the Son of the late James Whitaker & Ida Clark. He is survived by his Daughter Tammy Coleman, Son in law Kevin Coleman, Grandson Adrick Coleman, Grand Daughter Autumn Coleman, 2 Great Grand Twins Zoey & Andre Coleman, Brother Carlton Whitaker, Sister in law Gail Whitaker, Sister Pat Thigpin & Brother in law AT Thigpin. James enjoyed his morning cup of coffee and going to Bojangles for breakfast. He had a love for golf and enjoyed playing over the years with his best friend Glen. He also enjoyed fishing. His favorite Musical Artist were Adele and Bruno Mars. James enjoyed going to his Brother & Sisters home for a home cooked meal, fellowship and a hair cut. Some of his happiest moments where when his Grandson Adrick would come home to visit him while serving in the United States Air Force. And when his Daughter Tammy and Grand Daughter Autumn would take him out for seafood. James loved the Lord. He was a loving Father, Grand Father, Brother & Uncle. He was his families best friend. He was known for his sense of humor and kind heart. James retired from the carpet industry. He was a proud Veteran having served in the U.S. Army. His legacy will never be forgotten and will live on forever.
