Angier – James Howard Lee, 78, passed away at his home on Wednesday. A native of Vermilion County, IL, he was the son of the late Gordon Howard Lee and Opal Rose Cockrell Lee. Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved God and was filled with the Holy Spirit. Jim accomplished a lot in his life. Doing things like working as a chef in Alaska for 21 years, he and his wife, Betty also owned Camelot Ceramic Center in Danville, IL and they have enjoyed living here in North Carolina for almost 22 years. Jim loved anything to do with the outdoors. Things like planting in his garden and watching things grow. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier. The burial will take place at a later time at Sandy Grove Cemetery, Angier. The Family will receive friends at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home in Angier from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday. James is survived by his wife of 38 years, Betty Lou Lee; his son, Christopher David Lee and wife, Heather of Wilmington; step-children, Eric Christopher Hobaugh of Jefferson, IN, James Jewel Hobaugh and wife, Susan of Angier, Debbie Joanne Hall and husband, John of Peoria, IL; sister, Susie Merrett; grandchildren, Crystal Jewel Hobaugh and fiancé, Rassie Gregory, Kat, Brian, Ciera Benjamin, Sammie; great-grandchildren, Liam and Layton. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his step-son, Richard Hobaugh; sisters, Alice Richardson, Judy Davis, Shirley Newberry and a brothers, Donald and Bob Lee.
