James Ivan Greene

James Ivan Greene died May 6, 2015 at Rex Hospital surrounded by his family. Jim is survived by his wife of 63 years Peggy Jean Greene; a daughter Pamela G. Harmon of Lexington, NC; son Ronny Greene and wife Laura of Greenville, NC. His grandchildren: Tristan Humphries of Bond, Oregon; Michael Greene and wife Danielle of San Francisco, CA; Carolyn Greene and Brian Greene of Greenville, NC; a sister Ann Handley of Atlanta, GA, and Ron Gunter of Raleigh who was like a son. Jim was an active member and Deacon of Crabtree Valley Baptist Church, 4408 Lead Mine Road, Raleigh and an Army veteran and a semi-retired insurance salesman. Jim had a strong faith and a genuine love for friends and family. He was a devoted husband and loving father. He cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 9th at 3:00 pm at Crabtree Valley Baptist Church, with a visitation one hour prior, with Interment following at Historic Oakwood Cemetery.
