James “Jim” Ross Forrest

Fuquay-Varina- James Ross Forrest, 81, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by his loved ones. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Katherine Brock Forrest and Lloyd Baron Forrest. He retired from Nabisco after many years of dedicated service, enjoying social activities and traveling with his friends. Jim is survived by Barbara Presson Forrest, his beloved wife of 61 years; three daughters, Terrie Myrick of Fuquay-Varina, Cathy Linegar (Paul) of Richmond, VA, Sharyn Forrest of Key Largo, FL; sister, LaRue Dobson of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Rhys Potts (TJ), Kyle and Nathan Linegar, Jarely Parada; and his precious dog, Miss Lili. The family expresses sincere appreciation to all those who provided loving care in Jim’s last days including Rex Emergency Department, the ICU staff and the excellent teams at Transitions LifeCare. Heartfelt gratitude also goes to Pastor Steve Savia from The Church of The Resurrection for his weekly spiritual ministry to Jim and Barbara. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at The Church of The Resurrection, 6317 Sunset Lake Rd. Fuquay-Varina. The family will receive friends following the service.
