James Kevin Hatcher

RALEIGH- James Kevin Hatcher, 47, launched his final mission on Thursday, March 29, 2012. A native of Brunswick County, he was born July 7, 1964 to James P. Hatcher and Geraldine Lancaster Risley. Kevin served his country in the US Air Force and National Guard, serving three tours in Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He was currently active serving as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 at the National Guard Aviation Flight Facility in Morrisville. His civilian title was the Armament Avionics Supervisor at Army Aviation Support Facility #1 and his Army title was Aviation Maintenance Technician serving as Armament Platoon Leader and Production Control Officer in Delta Company, 1-130th ARB. He was a great man, a great soldier, and a great friend. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, in the Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner, on Monday, April 2, 2012. Inurnment will follow at Oakland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 8927 Cleveland School Road, Clayton, NC 27520. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his father, James P. Hatcher; his mother, Geri Risley and step-father, Andy Risley; sisters, Pam Jeffries and significant other, Shawn Van Hulst, Cheryl Hughes and husband, Vinny and Denise Orr and husband, Tom; brothers, Keith Hatcher and wife, Cinna and Greg Risley and wife, Christina; nieces, Michelle Handwork, Missy Evans and husband, Danny, Sam Howard, Christina Lopez, Sarah Lopez, Julia Hughes and Kelsey Hughes; nephews, Justin Hughes, Jack Risley, Cal Risley; great-niece, Ava Evans; great- nephew, Caleb Marrett and special nephew, Josh Hatcher and wife, Racheal and his military family, the 1-130th ARB. He loved his family, his country, his friends, and his toys.
