Retired Sergeant First Class James Lawrence Yahraes, 55, passed away on Tuesday. James served proudly in the US Army and retired after 20 years of service. As a civilian he continued to serve as Deputy Chief of Collective Training at the Fort Bragg Mission Training complex. Jim most enjoyed being with his family. He loved outdoor activities, nature and especially time spent on the lake. He loved his children and three granddaughters who referred to him as G-dad. A Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 pm at the Angier Baptist Church with Military Honors. Burial will take place in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Surviving are his wife of 22 years, Pamela Yahraes, daughters, Liz Masoner (Wayne) and Jill Yahraes; son, Chris Yahraes, brother, John Yahraes III, (Ann); father, John Yahraes, Jr. and step-mother, Kathy; mother, Susan White Yahraes; three granddaughters; Alexis, Ava and Alania Masoner and a large extended family. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier.
