James Leroy Cribb

Leroy Cribb, 90, of Laurinburg, NC, passed away on April 3, 2024. He was born on September 18, 1933, in Scotland County, North Carolina.


Leroy was known for his gentle disposition, marked by kindness, helpfulness, and a peaceful demeanor, coupled with a delightful sense of humor. He was loved by those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His leisure activities included tending to his yard and sharing moments of relaxation watching television with his cherished canine companion, Charlie. Leroy's presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.


Leroy's memory lives on through his devoted wife, Carolyn Cribb, his son, Dean Cribb (Jill), and his daughter, Sharon Cribb Phelan (Chris). He leaves behind a legacy cherished by grandchildren Paige Cribb Woodham (Dereck), Rob Cribb (Chloe), Caroline Phelan, and Ashlynne Phelan, as well as great-grandchildren Monroe Woodham, Hadley Woodham, and Tatum Cribb. Leroy now rests in eternal peace alongside his late parents, James Rothy Cribb and Carrie Norton Cribb, and brother Bobby Cribb. He is also warmly remembered by his brothers, Samuel Cribb, and Mitchell Cribb (Joan).


Leroy's life will be honored and celebrated in a service scheduled for April 14, 2024, commencing at 3:30 pm at St. David's Episcopal Church in Laurinburg, NC. Following the service, friends and family are invited for visitation at the church. The family has decided not to hold a graveside service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. David's Episcopal Church of Laurinburg, NC (Organ fund), in honor of Leroy's memory.
