James M. Denning, Sr.

Raleigh- Mr. James M. Denning, Sr.,84, of Raleigh passed away at the Durham VA Hospital on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013. Mr. Denning was born in Johnston County to the late John and Vada H. Denning. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mrs.Ruby Adams Denning; son, James M. Denning, Jr. and wife, Susan Denning of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Ms. Kim Denning of Burlington, NC; sister, Mrs. Glendora Woodard and husband, Bill Woodard of Angier, NC; brother, Mr. Stanley Denning of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, James Park Denning of Charlotte, NC, Katy Denning of Raleigh, NC and Nisha Allen of Burlington, NC. Mr. Denning was a restaurant Manager for Holiday Inn and later, a food distributor for Gordon Foods. Most importantly he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend of many. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2013, at 2:00 PM at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. 7506 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh with Rev. Diane Knauf officiating. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 PM at the church.
