James Murdock Garner

James Murdock Garner, 77 , of 4398 Piney Grove Road, passed away on Friday. A lifelong resident of Harnett County, he was the son of the late Alexander Garner and Callie Hall Garner. Surviving are his daughters, Sandy G. Atkins of Angier, Wendy G. Matthews of Bunnlevel; son, Terry M. Garner of Sanford; sisters, Mae Hudson, Mary Barbour, Martha Johnson, Ruth Kelly, Judy Watson, Shirley Gilliam; brothers, Ed Garner and Paul Garner, grandchildren Brent Atkins, Anna Atkins, Stephanie Hardee, Aaron Hardee, Haley Matthews, Allie Matthews; and great-granddaughter, Leah Gilmore. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Mary Johnson Garner, a son, James Ray Garner, daughter, Pam G. Hardee and brother, Tom Garner. Funeral services will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday at Piney Grove Chapel Baptist Church, Angier. Burial will follow at the Johnson family cemetery.The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Saturday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Angier and at other times at the home.
