James Nelson Barnes

GARNER - Nelson Barnes, 81, passed away Wednesday at Wake Medical Center. A native of Johnston County, he was the son of the late James Barnes and Mary Mozelle Jones Barnes. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday at Bryan-Lee Funeral Chapel, Garner. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. Survivors include his daughters, Gail Dunn and husband, Benjie of Raleigh, Diane Barnes, also of Raleigh and Sandra Barnes of The Netherlands; grandchildren, Heather Long and husband, Jamie, Chris Dunn and wife, Kristi; great-grandsons, Jalen, Aydan, and Jaron; sisters, Rochelle Henson and husband, Bobby and Jean Tyner; sister-in-law, Aileen Barnes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah his son, Ray and his brother, Melvin. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Wake Medical Center, Raleigh for their care.
