James Rogers Brown

APEX – James Rogers Brown, 93, passed away on Tuesday. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Catawba Springs Christian Church, Apex. The family will receive friends from 10:15 to 11:00 AM at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. James honorably served our country in the United Stated Navy. He loved his church, Catawba Springs, where he became a devoted and active member in 1965. After retiring from the NCDOT after 42 years, James worked in various roles with local contractors for another 15 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. In addition to his parents, Titus and Blanche Brown, James was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Joseph Brown and sister, Hilda Griffin. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Katie Marie Smith Brown; son, Ralph Brown (Candy); daughter, Brenda Thompson; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Leon Brown (Judy) and a large and loving extended family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catawba Springs Christian Church 6801 Ten-Ten Rd, Apex, NC 27539.
