Jane M. Baker

RALEIGH – Jane McDaniel Baker, 60, departed this world for her heavenly home on Wednesday surrounded by her loving family.  A native of Wake County, she was the daughter of Sam and Gladys Penny McDaniel. A graveside service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery where she will be laid to rest beside her faithful husband of 37 years, Silas Rickey Baker. Survivors include her daughter, Dasha Baker Johnson (Chad) of Raleigh; sister, Kaye McCabe (Paul) of Garner; brother, Freddie McDaniel (Mary) of Raleigh and three adored grandchildren, who she dearly loved, Matthew, Samantha and Levi. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SECU Hospice House, 426 Hospital Rd., Smithfield, NC 27577. The family will forever be grateful for the kindness shown in her final days.
