Janice Dawn Hough

RALEIGH – Janice Dawn Hough, 72, went to her heavenly home Monday, January 30, 2023.

She was born in Broome County, New York on September 11, 1950, the daughter of the late Roy and Adelaide Payne.

Janice retired from IBM after a long career. She then served as church secretary at Bethel Baptist Church where she had a host of very dear friends as her family. These Saints surrounded Janice with prayer, much care and love, and countless visits until her passing. To God be the Glory and Praise for her life and the lives of her precious friends at Bethel.

As a follower of Christ, she spent time in Bible study, serving in her church nursery, and in her waning days, would share her favorite Bible verse, John 3:16,

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

Janice is survived by her brother, R. Alan Payne and wife, Dawn; niece, Heather Breedlove and husband, Brian; nephew, Jason Payne; great-nephew, Wesley Breedlove (age 4) and great-niece, Brooklyn Breedlove (age 3 mos.).

A private burial service will be held at Raleigh Memorial Park in Raleigh. Flowers are welcome and may be sent to Bryan-Lee Funeral Home at 831 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh, NC 27604.
