Janice Norris Sais

RALEIGH– Janice Norris Sais, 75, passed away Monday, February 11, 2019 at Rex Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, February 15, 2019 at Vandora Springs Free Will Baptist Church. A private burial will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, Garner and at other times at the Sais home. Janice was born in Erwin, NC on October 30, 1943 to the late James and Esther Norris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Sais; brothers, Avant, John, Robert and Wilbert “Shorty” Norris; and by her sisters, Lovenia Hamilton, Christine Norris, Katherine Searcy and Ruth Beasley. She is survived by her son Anthony Norris and wife, Susan; grandson, Collin; brother, Aaron Norris of Goldsboro; sisters, Ruby Baker of Angier, Betty Norris of Raleigh and Mary Owens of Cumming, GA; sister-in-law, Mercy Padgett of Florida; and a host of extended family. Janice was mother to many and loved by all. Her Christmas Eve open house was a tradition that will be remembered by everyone. She loved sharing her Christmas baking with her family and friends. She was a great “Southern Cook”, with chicken pastry being her specialty with Collin’s rolling pin help. She enjoyed Facebook; playing games; Words with Friends, especially with Ersel and Caitlin.
